asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the total value of imports from and exports to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in the last year for which figures are available.

In the period January to November 1983, imports from the Soviet Union were valued at £648 million (cif) and exports to that country at £419 million (fob).
