asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the total number of young people who have become unemployed and who have registered at unemployment benefit offices in the Stoke-on-Trent travel-to-work area in the latest month for which statistics are available.

[pursuant to his reply, 26 January 1984, c. 657–58]: Between the unemployment counts taken on 10 November and 8 December 1983, 285 claimants aged under 18 became unemployed in the Stoke-on-Trent travel-to-work area.
