§ Mr. Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what response is being made by his Department to the letter from the Central Council of Probation Committees, signed jointly by the chairman of the Association of Chief Probation Officers, the chairman of the National Association of Probation Officers and the chairman of the Central Council of Probation Committees about the future working of the probation service under the arrangements set out in the Government White Paper, "Streamlining the Cities"; and if he will make a statement.
