HC Deb 01 February 1984 vol 53 c258W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what recent progress has been made in publicising the occupational asthma scheme; and how many claims for the benefit have now succeeded.

Mr. Newton

The lines of action put forward when I met the right hon. Member and representatives of the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union on 8 December are being followed up. The proposed poster has been sent to the union for comment. At the end of September 1983—the latest date for which figures are available—229 claims for disablement benefit for occupational asthma had been successful.
