HC Deb 01 February 1984 vol 53 c256W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has as to the plans of the British Travel Association and the English Tourist Board to publicise and support the Liverpool international garden festival.

Mr. Norman Lamont

The Liverpool international garden festival features prominently in the planned marketing and publicity activities of both the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourist Board this year. The BTA is publicising the festival extensively in its overseas literature and plans a number of promotional campaigns. The festival will be the highlight of the ETB's 1984 marketing theme — "A Celebration of English Gardens" and the board is also contributing to a special campaign to promote the Festival in the domestic market.
