HC Deb 01 February 1984 vol 53 c266W
Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many householders in Northern Ireland will face a reduction in their housing benefits when the changes in housing benefits are introduced; and what will be the average reduction in housing benefits.

Mr. Chris Patten

Information is not available in the form requested. However, it is estimated that from November 1984 some 23,000 householders will lose up to 12p for each pound by which their income exceeds their needs allowance. In addition, several thousand claimants will receive less housing benefit as a result of the other proposed changes in the scheme.
