HC Deb 01 February 1984 vol 53 c250W
37. Mr. Farr

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he is now taking in relation to the evidence placed before him by the British Battery Makers' Society on the dumping of underpriced car batteries by Japan in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Channon

My Department is in touch with the British Battery Makers Society about the possibility of anti-dumping action against Japanese battery imports. The industry is currently gathering the necessary supporting information and has been advised to seek support from other manufacturers within the Community. My Department will continue to give the industry all the help and guidance it can.
