§ Mr. Galleyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he intends lo issue for consultation a draft order under the Health and Social Security Act 1984 to amend the National Health Service Act 1977 ending general National Health Service subsidies for spectacles; and how long he anticipates the consultation period will then be before the order is placed before Parliament.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWe are almost ready to begin consultation of interested organisations on the contents of the proposed regulations. An adequate consultation period will be allowed to enable them to come into operation on 1 April 1985.
