HC Deb 21 December 1984 vol 70 c348W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) if Her Majesty's Government remain satisfied that it is the policy of the United States Government not to use plutonium supplied by the United Kingdom for military purposes other than in weapons;

(2) what is the latest information he has received about the reports to Congress by the United States Energy Secretary concerning the purposes to which plutonium supplied by the United Kingdom may be put in the United States.

Mr. Peter Walker

I have nothing to add to the answer I gave the right hon. Member on 2 July 1984 at column36.

Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what further representations he has received from the general secretary of the Electrical Power Engineers Association about the purposes to which plutonium exported by the United Kingdom is put in the United States; and what reply he is sending.

Mr. Peter Walker

I have arranged for Mr. Lyons' latest letter and my reply to be placed in the Library.
