§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe Nature Conservancy Council, as the scientific authority for animals, has not offered me advice on the matter stated in the question. However, the NCC has supported the arrangements which my Department have made in liaison with HM Customs and Excise to maintain close checks on live animals and products of endangered species entering the United Kingdom from either EC or non-EC countries. The results are reassuring.
