HC Deb 21 December 1984 vol 70 c349W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the future of the Chapelcross nuclear power station.

Mr. Goodlad

I am advised by British Nuclear Fuels plc that it expects that whilst the nuclear power station at Chapelcross continues to be an economic and reliable supplier of electricity, and its continued operation is approved by the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate, its operational life could be extended into the next decade.
