HC Deb 20 December 1984 vol 70 cc300-1W
Mr. John

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list for the last five years for which figures are available the number of inquiries under town and country planning legislation in which the inspector has reported to him the result of town and country planning applications within (a) three days, (b) seven days, (c) 14 days and (d) 28 days of the date of the inquiry.

Mr. John Stradling Thomas

This information is not recorded centrally. However, it is estimated that the time taken by inspectors to submit recommendations following inquiries on the complex planning cases to be determined by my right hon. Friend is generally more than 28 days.

Mr. John

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give, for each of the last five years for which statistics are available, the percentage of inquiries under town and country planning legislation in which the inspector has reported to him the inspector's decision before his full report is available.

Mr. John Stradling Thomas

This information is not recorded centrally, but inspector's recommendations on planning cases to be determined by my right hon. Friend are generally conveyed only in their formal inquiry reports.
