asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is considering any changes in nationalised industry legislation.

The Government intend to legislate in due course to update various aspects of nationalised industry statutes. On behalf of the various Departments which sponsor nationalised industries, I have today sent a consultation note to the Nationalised Industries' Chairmen's Group setting out various proposals. I have aranged for a copy of this note to be placed in the Library of the House.
