asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much has been contributed by the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for the restoration of historic buildings in London in each of the past five years.

In each of the last five years the total of grants offered for the repair of maintenance of buildings of outstanding historic or architectural interest in London is as follows. Only since 1 April 1984 has this been the responsibility of the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission.
