HC Deb 19 December 1984 vol 70 cc194-5W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Prime Minister, pursuant to her answer to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe, on 13 December, Official Report, column 546, whether she has anything to add to that reply in respect of the role to be played by the Secretary of State for the Environment in determining the Stansted applications.

The Lord Privy Seal

I have been asked to reply.

Only to repeat that, although legally and constitution-ally the decisions about Stansted will be taken jointly by my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for the Environment and for Transport, because my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has a home near Stansted, my hon. Friend the Minister for Housing and Construction will act for him in the decision-making process.
