HC Deb 19 December 1984 vol 70 c246W
64 Bermingham

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, of the representations he has received in respect of the Patents Office, arising from the Green Paper on intellectual property, how many have expressed unconditional support for recommendation No. 1.

Mr. Channon

Six of the 50 representations we have received on recommendation No. 1. of the Green Paper "Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation" (Cmnd.9117), that is, that the Patent Office should become a separate statutory body, have expressed unconditional support. Ten of the remaining representations on this recommendation have expressed support, subject only to provisos on implementation.
