HC Deb 19 December 1984 vol 70 c197W
Mr. Pawsey

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has about the number of houses in Rugby in urgent need of modernisation; and what funds his Department has made available in the current year for housing improvement in Rugby.

Sir George Young

Rugby borough council provided details about the conditions of the housing stock as at 1 April 1984 in its housing investment programme return, which is available in the Library.

The district council has received an enhanced housing investment programme allocation of £5.1 million in 1984–85; this is in recognition of particular problems present in a substantial proportion of the council's housing stock. The single block system for local authority expenditure allows authorities flexibility in ordering priorities in the use of their capital allocation.
