HC Deb 18 December 1984 vol 70 c136W
Mr. Hickmet

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what advice his Department has sought from international lawyers outside his Department as to the effect of the Salonika agreement upon the provisions of the treaty of Lausanne in so far as that treaty affects Britain's obligations.

Mr. Renton

In the time available it has not been possible to establish definitely whether such advice has ever been sought. But in view of the answer I gave my hon. Friend on 14 December, at column628, such consultation is most unlikely to have been necessary.
