§ Mrs. FennerAction was taken and the White Paper "Framework for Government Research and Development" Cmnd. 5046, July 1972, paragraph 56, stated that the Soil Survey of England and Wales would continue to be a research council responsibility, but the funds for its financing would be transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as from 1973–74.
