§ Mr. David HuntThe Department of Energy is providing up to £500,000 for a study of a commercial-scale power station using British Gas coal gasification technology. This technology offers the prospect of substantially reduced sulphur emissions without the economic penalties associated with established sulphur removal processes.
§ 28. Mr. Pikeasked the Secretary of State for Energy what percentage of electricity generated by the Central Electricity Generating Board was produced from coal, on a fuel used basis, for the period March to September; and how this compares with the same period in 1983.
§ Mr. GoodladOn a fuel used basis, 52 per cent. of the electricity produced by the Central Electricity Generating Board in the period March to September 1984 was derived from coal compared with 81 per cent. in the equivalent period in 1983.
