§ Mr. John PattenThe independent expert advisory committee on the toxicity of chemicals in food, consumer products and the environment last considered data relating to Dr. Wurtman's studies in 1983. The Department's medical staff continue to monitor information on aspartame, and would seek the committee's advice if significant new information about its effects was produced.
