asked the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received regarding the proposed reorganisation of the Forestry Commission in Wales; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has received representations on this matter from the following, as well as from my hon. Friend the Member for Cardiff, Central:

  • My hon. Friend the Member for Vale of Glamorgan (Sir R. Gower);
  • The right hon. Member for Cardiff, South and Penarth (Mr. Callaghan);
  • The hon. Member for Caernarfon (Mr. Wigley);
  • The trade union side of the Forestry Commission's south Wales Whitley Council;
  • The Wales TUC;
  • Cardiff city council.

However, the prime responsibility for the organisation and efficient management of the Forestry Commission in Wales lies with the forestry commissions.
