HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 c572W
45. Mr. Kenneth Carlisle

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will seek to extend capital transfer tax relief to land of conservation interest.

Mr. Moore

I have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion. He will, I know, however, be aware that conservation objectives are already recognised in the capital transfer tax code, which provides exemption for land of outstanding scenic, historic or scientific interest, and for land adjoining a historic house which is essential for the protection of the character and amenities of the house.
