§ 45. Mr. Kenneth Carlisleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will seek to extend capital transfer tax relief to land of conservation interest.
§ Mr. MooreI have noted my hon. Friend's suggestion. He will, I know, however, be aware that conservation objectives are already recognised in the capital transfer tax code, which provides exemption for land of outstanding scenic, historic or scientific interest, and for land adjoining a historic house which is essential for the protection of the character and amenities of the house.
