HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 c589W
Mr. Ashley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the total number of people so far made redundant as a consequence of the privatisation of hospital services; what percentage this is of the people previously providing the service; if he will categorise the redundancies by sex and by whether full or part-time; and whether following privatisation, there has been an increase in the proportion of women part-time workers in the National Health Service earning a rate of pay below the lower limit for national insurance contributions.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

We do not collect centrally information on total redundancies or the earnings of individual part-time workers.
