Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) how much coal per annum his Department and the Central Electricity Generating Board expect will be used in the generation of electricity in Britain by 1990, 2000, and 2010;

(2) what projections his Department and the Central Electricity Generating Board have made for the amount and percentage of electricity which will be generated by coal by 1990 and 2000.
