HC Deb 13 December 1984 vol 69 c578W
Mr. Evennett

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has held any consultations or received any communication from the British Transport Police Authority concerning proposals to reduce the number of officers employed by that force.

Mr. David Mitchell

No, but there is no reason why I should do so. The number of officers in the British Transport Police is a matter for the British Railways Board to consider, in conjunction with the British Transport Police Committee.
