asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what grants have been received by British Telecom from the European regional development fund in each parliamentary constituency in the Lancashire, East Euro constituency since 1979.

ERDF grants have been approved in respect of the following British Telecom projects in the Lancashire, East Euro constituency since 1979:

  1. 1. £98,100 in respect of a Rossendale region modernisation project in 1983.
  2. 2. £18,000 in respect of a Rossendale industrial development area project in 1984.

Both projects were located in the Rossendale and Darwen constituency.
