asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on the freeport experiment in Cardiff.

In common with the other five freeports in the United Kingdom, Cardiff freeport was formally designated on 6 August 1984, initially for a period of seven years. I understand from the operators that considerable interest has been shown in the freeport. Some 200 inquiries have already been received.
