§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe latest available figures for coal production were published in a Department of Energy press notice on 5 December 1984. They show that 3.5 million tonnes of coal were produced in October.
Since the end of October 16,300 former strikers have returned to work, and another nine pits have started producing coal. There are now 64 pits where coal is being produced.
