asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will give details of road traffic accidents on the A3 in the Surrey, South-West constituency in 1984; and if he will make a statement on the causes.

On the 10 kilometres of the A3 in the Surrey, South-West constituency there have been 38 personal injury accidents in 1984 up to 30 November. Of these, there were six fatal, seven serious and 25 slight.

As there are likely to be police proceedings arising from a number of those accidents, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on the possible causes.
