§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Prime Minister, following her answer to the hon. Member for Dundee West, 22 November, Official Report, column 221, on denaturation of common market food surpluses in Britain, if she will (a) publish the names of the towns, cities or regions where such practices are carried out and (b) seek to end such activities and ensure that these surpluses are released instead to the Ethiopian famine effort.
§ The Prime Minister(a) During the year ended 31 October 1984 denaturing has been carried out at thefollowing locations:

- Hull
- Turriff
- Bridgewater
- Stowmarket
- Wheat
- Mathwold
- Kings Lynn
- Skegness
- Wisbech
(b) No wheat is currently being denatured. The only skimmed milk powder being denatured is old stock which is not suitable for food aid. The Government and the Community are already taking more effective action to assist the drought-striken areas of Ethiopia than that proposed by the hon. Member.
