Mr. Robert Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has funds available within his budget for rewarding employees, or members of the public, for putting forward suggestions which result in the saving of costs.

Mr. Ridley

Funds are available under a staff suggestions scheme for rewarding employees whose suggestions improve the efficiency of the Department. There are no such arrangements for members of the public.
