Mr. Nicholson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the average percentage trend in wholesale milk deliveries between 1981 and 1983 in the United Kingdom; and what was the percentage trend in wholesale deliveries between 1981 and 1983 in each of the nine regions of the United Kingdom.

[pursuant to his reply, 12 November 1984, c. 136]: The following additional information requested on the percentage trend in wholesale deliveries between 1981 and 1983 is now available:

Percentage increases
1. The area to which the Scottish Milk Marketing Scheme 1933 applies, other than Region 2 below 5.2
2. The islands of Arran, Bute, Coll, Gigha, Great Cumbrae, and Kintyre South of Tarbert 14.4
3. The area to which the Aberdeen and District Milk Marketing Scheme 1933 applies 11.7
4. The area to which the North of Scotland Milk Marketing Scheme 1933 applies, other than the Islands of Orkney 8.31
5. The Islands of Orkney* 19.4
6. The Islands of Shetland* 26.8
* The islands of Shetland and Orkney take up only 0.15 per cent. and 1.14 per cent. respectively of total Scottish quota.
