asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will list the constabularies outside the Metropolitan police area that have direct terminal links to the Metropolitan C department computer.

There are none.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will describe the data fields of the modus operandi or method index on the Metropolitan C department computer.

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the method index includes data fields relating to persons, addresses, vehicles, offences and reference numbers.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Metropolitan C department computer has been or will be used in connection with the current miners dispute; and if he will make a statement.

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to his Question on 19 November at column 7. I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that he still has no plans to put the computer facilities dedicated to C department to any special use in connection with the miners' dispute.
