HC Deb 05 December 1984 vol 69 c209W
31. Sir Hector Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what recent discussions he has had with the National Farmers Union about the profitability of hill farming in Scotland.

Mr. George Younger

The profitability of hill farming in Scotland forms part of the annual review of the economic situation in the hills and uplands which takes place each autumn. The review is carried out in close cooperation with the SNFU, which put forward its views on the current situation in Scotland. This year's review has just been completed and the results were announced on 29 November.
