HL Deb 05 December 1984 vol 457 c1439WA
The Earl of Onslow

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the free air mail letter facility for servicemen in the Falklands is to be continued; and whether they will make a statement.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces (Lord Trefgarne)

We fully appreciate the value and importance of the free air mail facility for service personnel in the Falklands and their families in the United Kingdom, and this facility will be continued for the time being. The similar free familygramme facility for those serving in South Georgia will likewise be continued.
