It is not possible at this stage to make detailed estimates of the cost of the strike as suggested, but in his Autumn Statement of 12 November in columns. 415–429 my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave an indication of the effects of the public sector borrowing requirements for the country as a whole.
