HC Deb 04 December 1984 vol 69 c137W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what are the preferences of type of aircraft expressed by the Governments of the 10 nations involved in the area of operation by the Leeward Islands Air Transport, the Caribbean Development Bank and the airline; if he has sought the reasons why the European Economic Community has gone against the Lorne convention; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Raison

The Governments of the Caribbean Islands, the Leeward Islands Air Transport and the Caribbean Development Bank favour the immediate purchase of four British Aerospace super 748 aircraft. I have no proof that the European Commission has acted in any way contrary to the Lomé convention.
