asked the Prime Minister if she will make personal representations to the leaders of the countries in the European Economic Community regarding the Commission decision to buy untried aircraft for the Leeward Islands Air Transport; and if she will make a statement.

I understand that discussions are continuing between LIAT and the Commission. We expect the rules for approving contractors to be fully and fairly applied by the Commission and shall continue to make this clear.
