When we published the Arthur Andersen report on the use of computers in the family practitioner services, I made it clear that the Government welcomed the report's emphasis on the use of new technology to reduce administrative costs and improve patient care at column324–5. Having satisfied ourselves that the report points in the right direction, we have been looking at the questions that arise in implementing it and we intend to make a further statement shortly.
