HC Deb 04 December 1984 vol 69 c170W
Mr. Walters

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the average number of decayed, missing and filled teeth at 12 years of age in England; and how this compares with the position 10 years ago.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

In 1983, the average number of decayed, missing and filled teeth at 12 years of age was 3.3 in England. A comparable statistic is not available for England only in 1973 but for England and Wales together the average figure for 12-year-olds was 5.2.
