Mr. Hume

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what percentage of (a) the marketable wealth, excluding pension funds, (b) the total after tax incomes and (c) the total personal wealth, including occupational and state pension rights as personal assets, of Northern Ireland were owned or obtained by the richest 1 per cent., the richest 5 per cent., the richest 10 per cent., the richest 25 per cent. and the richest 50 per cent. of the population, respectively, in 1979 and 1982.
