HL Deb 03 December 1984 vol 457 c1204WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will arrange for a joint response from the Department of the Environment, the Housing Corporation, the Department of Health and Social Security, the Home Office and local authority associations to the recently published report Housing for Ethnic Elders from Age Concern and the Help the Aged Housing Trust.

Lord Skemersdale

I can assure the noble Lord that, if approached, we will give a co-ordinated response in relation to those recommendations affecting central Government and I do not rule out the possibility of a joint response on behalf of all the departments concerned if that seems the most appropriate way of proceeding.

Many of the report's recommendations are directed at the housing association movement and at local authorities as providers of housing. I am sure they will wish to comment on their own behalf.
