Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will give a breakdown by region of the numbers of sterilisations performed on (a) men and (b) women in the last year for which figures are available;

(2) how many sterilisations have been performed under the National Health Service in each of the last 10 years for which figures are available on (a) men and (b) women.
