HC Deb 01 August 1984 vol 65 c377W
26. Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the Government-funded agencies which may be approached for assistance to keep St. George's Hall, Liverpool, open.

Mr. Gow

The city council could approach the English tourist board and the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission. In certain circumstances, it might also be worthwhile approaching the national heritage memorial fund.

My right hon. Friend has made clear to the city council that he would consider any proposals which might be made for support under the urban programme.
