asked the Prime Minister in which nationalised industries board members (a) have and (b) have not received salary increases for 1984; and, in each case where salary increases have not been paid, what are the reasons.

No general 1984 salaries have yet been agreed for nationalised industry boards other than for London Regional Transport. Proposals from the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board, British Telecom, the Post Office, British Airports Authority, National Bus Company, British Shipbuilders and British Airways have recently been submitted and are currently under consideration.

1983 salaries have been agreed for all nationalised industry boards with the exception of the National Coal Board. Proposals from the NCB were received in March 1984 and details are currently under consideration.
