Mr. Marlow

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the national milk quotas of each European Economic Community country as agreed earlier in the current year, broken down by month on the appropriate monthly basis setting out his best estimates of production in each month to date by each country, comparing this output with quota and setting out the percentage over or under quota on a monthly basis and in the current year to date.

The various national reference quantities laid down under the Community's supplementary levy scheme for milk were set out in my reply of 31 July to the hon. Member for Caernarfon (Mr. Wigley). Individual producers and dairies are generally liable to pay levy on a quarterly basis according to any excess of milk above their cumulative reference quantity for the corresponding quarter of the reference calendar year. The individual quarterly quantities depend on national decisions about the detailed implementation of the arrangements and are not laid down as aggregate national quarterly quantities.
