§ Mr. Bestasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what are the criteria for payment of a law enforcement allowance;
(2) why a law enforcement allowance is not paid to officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise;
(3) why a law enforcement allowance is paid to immigration officers;
(4) how many officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise would be eligible to receive a law enforcement allowance if it were subject to the same criteria as eligibility for immigration officers.
§ Mr. HayhoeThere is no law enforcement allowance in issue to immigration officers. Indeed, there is no such allowance. It cannot, therefore, be extended to officers in Her Majesty's Customs and Excise.
