HC Deb 01 August 1984 vol 65 c263W
Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Prime Minister if she will list the numbers, grades, job descriptions and costs of her advisers, including those in the policy and efficiency units, for each year since 1979; and whether they are expected to conform to the Civil Service rules of conduct with respect to political impartiality.

The Prime Minister

I will write to the hon, Gentleman.

Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Prime Minister what is the total annual cost to public funds of professional and secretarial staff for her office; and what proportion of this figure represents fees paid to outside consultants.

The Prime Minister

The total staff cost for the whole of my office in the financial year ended 31 March 1984 was £1,301,000. No payments were made to outside consultants.
