§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandAccording to the latest figures supplied by chief constables, as of 27 July, 1,078 persons have been arrested and charged with offences arising out of the miners' strike. The majority have been charged with breach of the peace or obstruction of the police in the execution of their duty.
